A poem.
Here I sit
upon a tattered throne
left to face the world
on my own
only memories
of days gone by
help me to defend myself
against bitterness and lies
a sword of truth
held tightly in hand
ready to fight in
my last stand

a duel to the death
the battle has been deemed
a fight for honor and dignity
was more of what was to be seen
my opponent had a double bladed tongue
spouting out atrocities and lies
and that my friend
was his greatest demise
his word cut me
and assumed me to be dead
one stab from my sword
and like all mortals he bled

for the truth came out
as the final verdict was declared
unfortunately too late
for either party to be spared
